Cricket Butler (the missionary)
Cricket Gifts book to Alan Osmond.
Some of Elvis's personal notations in the Book of Mormon: "Gold Records . . . Real ones!"
(By the images of ancient Gold Plates.)
"I know this in my heart to be true."
"Me too!" (no more Kings)
(Mosiah 29: 13, 16, 31, 47)
"My Daughter Lisa is 9 years old. She needs this church. Help her."
-Yes, I received "Elvis's Book of Mormon" from the fan/"missionary", Cricket Butler.
-I interviewed Cricket on cassette tape, had her sign a letter of authenticity, and saw past pictures of her with Elvis.
-Cricket said, "Elvis had often talked about the Osmonds and would have wanted us to have the Book".
-We, The Osmonds, had a private BBQ scheduled by Elvis at his home. He passed away a couple of weeks before that date.
-We also knew him, talked with him, conversed and have had personal conversations with him. We worked at the Hilton in Las Vegas where he worked and we visited backstage.
-Others may have given Elvis a Book of Mormon but, if you look at the one entry that Elvis wrote in this book...
"My daughter Lisa is 9. She needs this Church. Please help her".
Do the math:
Lisa Marie Presley= Born on Feb 1, 1968
Elvis Died Aug 16, 1977 (Lisa = 9 years old in 1977. Same age per notes in BofM)
This had to be Elvis's latest encounter with the Book of Mormon.
-Elvis signed and left his comments in the book.
-
By the way, I did have a copy of the book made (the only one) of Elvis's Book of Mormon which I sent to Lisa Presley's publicity agent c/o my brother Donny Osmond.
I did give the book to the LDS Church via my wife's cousin, Elder Rex Pinegar. (See attachment)
This was for safety sake, to protect Elvis's privacy, and to preserve the sacredness of this book! Several people that knew I had it were too "anxious" to see it and touch it . . . So, I put it in a very safe place ... The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
